How I work
A cup of chai on the sill of a flat window looking out on a rain-soaked British street

You might recognise this

Everything worked out. So why does it feel like this?

Successful on paper

The job, the visa, the flat, the photographs sent home. Underneath it, exhaustion you cannot explain to anyone who only sees the highlights.

Living between two scripts

One self at work, another on the call with your parents. Neither feels entirely like you, and switching between them is quietly draining.

Far from everyone who knew you

Friendly colleagues, a full calendar, and still nobody who remembers your grandmother's name or how funny you are in your own language.

Carrying it alone

Parents who must not be worried, friends back home who see only the success, a partner managing their own version of the same thing. Somewhere along the way you became the one who copes.

None of this means something is wrong with you. It means you have been adjusting to a new country, balancing cultural expectations, and holding relationships across distance — without anywhere to put the weight of it down.

About Srividya

“Home isn't always a place — sometimes it's the people who get it without you having to explain.”

I hold a Master's in Public Health and a Master's in Counselling Psychology, with advanced training in CBT and DBT and ten years of experience across anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, burnout and relationships. Raised in India, I have since lived in Canada, Switzerland, the US and the UK — so this is lived experience as well as training.

Kind words

What clients have said.

Sharing the same culture allowed me to talk freely about certain topics, knowing that I'll be understood.
